Kentucky native Darrell Scott has written hit songs for Nashville’s finest – Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Brad Paisley, and the Dixie Chicks. Hailing from West Virginia and steeped in bluegrass and country, Tim O’Brien won a Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album in 2006 with FIDDLER’S GREEN.
Their latest album, MEMORIES AND MOMENTS, has received critical acclaim and was recorded “the old fashioned way – with the two artists facing each other in the studio, their music bleeding into each other’s microphones. No overdubs. No added bells and whistles.”
The 2014 Southern Sound Series is presented by the Friends of McCelvey in the McCelvey Center’s Lowry Family Theater. Noted for its remarkable acoustics, the historic theater seats over 500 guests and has a lovely 1920s ambiance.
