Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre presents “The Country Cruising to a Murder”
to
USC-Lancaster Bundy Auditorium 476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, South Carolina 29720
LANCASTER, SC – County Cruising to Murder is a combination murder mystery and comedic play written by David Moberg. Sponsored by Lancaster Performing Arts, the dinner theatre will be presented on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 6:00 PM on the campus of USC Lancaster in the Bradley Arts & Sciences building.
The fun begins as soon as the guests arrive. There will be a cash bar for social/cocktail hour beginning at 6:00 PM. During the evening, a murder mystery will unfold. All those in attendance will become detectives as they try to expose the "murderer." The audience gets in on the act by voting for the killer as more suspects fall victim to the ax. The dinner guest who solves the murder mystery will be rewarded with 2 tickets of their choice to one of the remaining performances of the 2014-2015 Performing Arts Series. The audience becomes the cruise passengers ready to set sail on Country Cruise Lines, "The Best Floating Dude Ranch on the Seven Seas." Before the cruise begins, Cruise Director Logan Masters selects five audience contestants to compete in the Queen of the Cruise Contest. The Queen is awarded many prizes.... most importantly... one million dollars in gold! The female contestants select audience men to "help" them compete in contests like “Sing a Lonesome Love Song” and “Tell a Country Tale.” Audience members vote for which contestant will be crowned Queen of the Cruise. Very quickly, contestants are not only struggling to win the contest but to stay alive.
It seems that someone is willing to “kill” to become the Queen of the Cruise. Ten zany characters include: a cruise line sheriff who speaks some obscure (and non-existent) language, an overbearing mother, wallflower daughter, country bumpkin, gorgeous airhead, and incompetent but ambitious cruise assistant.... but of course no one is who they seem to be!
