Lowcountry Bottom Fishing Rodeo

The Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy will host the fourth Lowcountry Bottom Fishing Rodeo July 8-10 at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. With prizes up to $7,000, anglers cast their lines for 11 species of fish among three categories: inshore, bottom and king mackerel. The family-friendly tournament also includes first responder, ladies and youth divisions.
The entry cost is $75 for the inshore and bottom fishing categories and $125 for the king mackerel. All entrants receive a shirt if registered before July 6. Anglers are welcome to fish all three days.

Rich Robinson, executive director of Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy. “We are grateful to all of those who participate to help support us as we serve first responders, families and Lowcountry communities.”
Tournament information
- Entry allows anglers to fish for all three days. You may participate in both the Bottom Fishing and King Mackerel categories. All entries are by angler. This is not a team tournament.
- Inshore category includes flounder, red snapper, sea trout, sheepshead and Spanish mackerel.
- Bottom Fish category includes amberjack, black sea bass, grouper, triggerfish and vermilion snapper.
- Offshore category includes king mackerel.
- All local DNR rules and regulations must be followed.
Prizes
- Bottom and Inshore Fish (based on 100 entries): $500 for the largest bottom fish in each category.
- King Mackerel (based on 50 entries): $2,000 for first largest fish; $1,000 for second largest fish; $750 for third largest fish.
- Additional categories: $500 for largest fish caught by a first responder; $300 for largest fish caught by a lady angler (18 years and older); $300 for largest fish caught by a youth angler (under 18 years old).
