Langley Pond Sprint Triathlon

Presented by the Aiken County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department the Langley Pond Sprint and International Triathlons in Aiken, SC move into their eighth season after proving to be events not to miss. Athletes will find Langley Pond to be a triathlon dream with a private lake, indoor bathroom and shower facilities, children's activites and ample parking all within a few minutes drive from Historic Downtown Aiken, SC. The swim is one counter clockwise loop in the possibly wet-suit legal waters of Langley Pond. Athletes encounter a long run of 400 yard to transition after the swim. From there the bike course is one loop which is best described as UP then DOWN as athletes climb to the high point on the course before roaring downhill to the low point back at the event site. While there is a significant amount of uphill, there is also a great deal of flat to rolling terrain and of course lots of fun and fast downhills Of course it is all worth it as the run is flat and fast and designed as an out and back.
