Georgetown Yuletide Home Tour
Georgetown Library 405 Cleland Street , Columbia, South Carolina 29440
The 20th annual Friends of the Georgetown Library Yuletide Home Tour will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Eleven beautiful residences in and around Georgetown’s Historic District will be decorated in holiday finery and open for visiting. In addition, two venerable houses of worship will open their doors to tour participants: Duncan United Methodist Church and Temple Beth Elohim. It’s an entertaining day for a good cause. All proceeds go to support the children and youth reading programs at the Library.
Also returning this year is Santa's Shoppe at the Georgetown Library, where ten craftspeople will display unique wares. Santa’s Shoppe will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the tour. It is a great place to find truly unique Christmas gifts, or perhaps something for yourself. And for this year, as a celebration of our 20th tour, we are adding a new component: Merrie Museums, a pre-tour event on Saturday morning into early afternoon. We have partnered with four of Georgetown’s finest museums to allow you a sample of what each provides. Your ticket will give you special access from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgetown County Museum, the Gullah Museum, the Kaminski House Museum and the South Carolina Maritime Museum.
Tickets for the tour are $25 per person or $20 for members of friends groups of any of the county libraries. Price includes the Home Tour, Santa's Shoppe and Merrie Museums. Tickets may be pre-purchased at any of the County Library branches: the Georgetown Library, 405 Cleland Street; the Andrews Library, 105 N Morgan Street; the Carvers Bay Library, 13048 Choppee Road; the Southern Georgetown Library, 4187 Powell Road; and the Waccamaw Library, 41 St. Paul Place. Or they may be purchased at the Georgetown Library on the day of the tour.
Tickets and tour information can be picked up on Dec. 10 any time after 10 a.m. at the Georgetown Library.
