El Vaquero, the Spanish colonial cowboy, is a composite character based upon traditional vaquero stories and histories. His story is the living history of the origins and development of traditional cowboy practices in the American West.
The El Vaquero Talk led by Dr. Merlock is part of the Library Talk Series celebrating a 26-year community collaboration between Greenville Chautauqua and the Greenville County Library System co-sponsoring talks about the historical figures who will appear on stage.
