The Horry County Museum and the AVX Foundation present a program by Dr. Jeffrey Camper on Saturday, Oct. 16. Using photographs and live specimens, Dr. Camper will discuss the different snake species that are found throughout South Carolina.
Jeffrey Camper was born in Aurora, Illinois and began catching garter snakes at seven years old. He received a Bachelor ScienceĀ in Zoology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a Master of ArtsĀ in Biology from Drake University, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University. Dr. Camper has been teaching genetics, evolutionary biology, comparative anatomy and herpetology at Francis Marion University since 1994.
The program will begin at 1 p.m. in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street in Conway. This event is free and open to the public.
