The Horry County Museum 805 Main Street, Conway, South Carolina 29526
The Horry County Museum presents a free program on August 8 at 1 p.m. by Rebecca Cavalier on The South Carolina Department of Natural Resource’s Alligator Project. The project is responsible for the statewide management of alligators. This includes statewide scientific surveys on alligator individuals and populations, education and outreach about alligators and ways to stay “alligator safe” and permitting for removal, transporting or captive alligators.
Cavalier is a wildlife biologist for SCDNR and is the Nuisance Alligator Coordinator for the upper coastal region of South Carolina. She assists in all things alligators, but her main responsibilities include nuisance alligator management and the continued development of alligator education and outreach.
The program will begin at 1 p.m. in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street in Conway. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (843) 915-5320 or email hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org.
