38th Annual Heritage Days Celebration

The three-day cultural event Penn Center Heritage Days celebrates the Penn School/Penn Center, and the Gullah Geechee history, folk arts, food, music, crafts and West and Central African cultural legacy of the region.
Visitors enjoy demonstrations of West African/Gullah cultural connections, including live cultural demonstrations, Gullah storytellers, re-enactors and singers, African drummers and dancers and an educational symposium. There also will be a fish fry, crab crack, and oyster roast.
Entertainment and crafts will include Back in the Day Jam, a parade, center stage entertainment and a craft fair. Youth & Family Day in particular features lots of educational "fun fuh de chillun and famlee" (fun for the children and family).
