The Windsor Trace CDE, an American Driving Society recognized event, is held each fall in Windsor, about 15 miles from Aiken. This is the tenth year for this event. A portion of the proceeds from the event this year will go to Large Animal Rescue Team (LART) /Aiken Mounted Unit.
Combined Driving is an equestrian sport that has horses/ponies (single ,pair or four-in hand ) pulling a carriage and controlled by a driver on the vehicle. It is an event with three phases that tests the harmony of the horse(s) and driver in Dressage (Obedience), Marathon (obedience and speed) and Cones (obedience, rhythm and moderate speed). It is equivalent to the equestrian discipline of Three-day Eventing or similar to a human triathlon. The sport was started by HRH Prince Phillip of England in the 1970s.
