At the S.C. Reggae Jerk Wine Festival, you will have a Jamaican musical experience listening to various genres of Jamaican music up to the present reggae. Jerk foods and other Jamaican dishes, including the famous Jamaican oxtails, will be available. There will also be a raffle, wine tasting, scenic video of Jamaican sites in the Magnolia theater, a meet and greet with Tamara Christie from the Jamaica Tourist Board, hair showcase by Paul Mitchell hair and beauty school, a dominoes tournament, Jamaican ludo game, and a great opportunity to network and dance, a favorite Jamaican pastime, all set in the magnificent Magnolia Gardens.
The event is presented by Caribbean Rootz and Healthy Lifestyle Network.
We are in for a delightful time at the third festival, with more vintners/wineries participating to introduce their wines and more food vendors to provide you with the succulent taste of the sensational Jamaican jerk. We will be introducing Irie Jerk Wine.
Admission to this year's event will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Wine samples from a variety of wine distributors and winery partners
- Complimentary wine glass
- Complimentary jerk samples provided by Caribbean Rootz's visiting chef
- Wine and cooking demonstrations presented by a Jamaican chef
- Live concert performances by a Jamaican reggae artist, a popular reggae band and a Caribbean DJ.
- Jamaican food selections from the menus of several Caribbean food vendors will be available for purchase
- Special pricing on featured wines at the retail tent
- Arts and craft gift options for purchase from a number of specialty vendors
- Complimentary tour of the Magnolia Gardens.
- A portion of the proceeds will benefit Healthy Lifestyle Network, a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping children and adults. We conduct programs in Charleston and Jamaica. Donations of school supplies, soccer balls (sizes 3 and 4), shin guards, art and crafts, cotton fabric and hand-quilting thread will be collected.
