Anne Springs Close Greenway 2573 Lake Haigler Drive, Fort Mill, South Carolina 29715
Anne Springs Close Greenway invites members and visitors to join in the celebration of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 1. This full-day event encourages outdoor enthusiasts to hike, run, mountain bike, paddle or horseback ride along the Greenway's scenic trails and lakes to contribute to the collective goals of covering over 2,000 miles and encompassing all 40 miles of Greenway trail.
American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day is a nationwide initiative dedicated to public advocacy and trail service. Thousands of individuals including hikers, bikers, rowers, horseback riders, trail clubs, federal and local agencies, land trusts, and businesses coming together to advocate for, maintain and clean up public lands and trails during this annual event.
As part of the celebration, Anne Springs Close Greenway will offer free entry on National Trails Day, waiving daily admission fees for all visitors. A $5 per car parking fee for non-members will contribute to the Greenway’s conservation efforts.
Last year, guests exceeded the 1,000-mile challenge by recording a total of 1,912.98 miles. This year, the Greenway aims to surpass this achievement, with the support of the community, and hit the 2,000 mile challenge. To incentivize participation, the Greenway will raffle off membership to those who record miles. Participants can also apply their miles to a family membership, with each mile hiked equaling $1 off an annual family membership, up to $12 off.
