Living History Saturday: "Our Favorite Cookbooks”

Historical interpreters at Brattonsville serve up a series of special Living History Saturdays that focus on cookbooks from the 18th and 19th centuries. Our Favorite Cookbooks feature open-hearth cooking using recipes, or ‘receipts’, highlighting dishes from prominent cookbooks along with activities that reflect the era of publication.

The Nov. 30 event features roast ham and lemom curd from Mrs. Hill’s New Cook Book (1867 – Post Civil War and Reconstruction).
