Living History Saturday: "Our Favorite Cookbooks”

Historical interpreters at Brattonsville serve up a series of special Living History Saturdays that focus on cookbooks from the 18th and 19th centuries. Our Favorite Cookbooks feature open-hearth cooking using recipes, or ‘receipts’, highlighting dishes from prominent cookbooks along with activities that reflect the era of publication.

The Nov. 9 event features a curry of chicken and potato pumpkin from “The Kentucky Housewife” (1839 – Early America)..
