Cherokee County Museum will host a Juneteenth Scholarly Symposium, "Briggs Before and Beyond Brown," Wednesday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m.
Jannie Harriot, executive director of the Cecil Williams South Carolina Civil Rights Museum, will preside. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Roy Jones, executive director of the Call Me MiSTER program at Clemson University.
Panelists will include Briggs v. Elliott Descendant Nathaniel Briggs, Dr. Akivia Ford, Pearson Family Representative, historians Dr. Abel Bartley and Dr. Larry Wilson and Cecil WIlliams, photographer and museum owner.
