The Charleston Jazz Orchestra is delighted to present a highly requested collaboration of big band and vibraphone. Grammy-nominated artist Stefon Harris will headline the evening, showcasing unparalleled dexterity as he draws both whimsical and spirited melodies from his instrument. Harris’ performances are both sonically and visually captivating, and will have you on the edge of your seat the entire show.
Harris is a renowned jazz vibraphonist, composer, educator and recording artist signed to the prestigious Blue Note record label. Harris’ 2003 album entitled The Grand Unification Theory received the coveted Martin E. Segal award from Jazz at Lincoln Center. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Diana Krall, Norah Jones and Janis Siegle (Manhattan Transfer), and has toured as a member of the SFJazz Collective.
Two shows at 5 and 8 p.m. Concert length 90 minutes with no intermission.
