Grand Strand Juniors would like to invite you to participate in the Coastal Classic Volleyball Championships, an AAU Super-Regional held in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The tournament will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and will provide 2-days of exciting volleyball, amazing beaches and great activities for traveling teams.

General Information – All Teams
Tournament will have an AM and PM wave format. AM wave will start at 8:00 am and PM wave will start at approximately 2:00 pm. All teams are guaranteed 7 matches. Pool play on Saturday and the elimination playoff will be Sunday. The event will use AAU Sanctioned rules. Division winners will receive a champion t-shirt, trophy and FREE entry into the AAU Championships in Orlando, Florida. Runners up receive a champion t-shirt. (*Divisions must have at least 10 Teams to receive free entry. If division is less than 10 teams, winning team will receive discounted entry into AAU Championships.)

** Each player and coach is required to have an AAU Membership to participate in the Coastal Classic Volleyball Championships and any AAU Sanctioned Tournament, such as the AAU National Championships… it’s fairly inexpensive at $12-$14 per year. Membership information can be found at www.aauvolleyball.org. This cost in not included in the CCVB tournament fee.
Format: AM/PM Waves (Guaranteed 7 Matches)
Pool Play – Saturday and AM Wave Sunday with Playoffs Sunday
Divisions: 13U – 18U

There will be no coaches meeting at the start of the tournament. Teams should check in and report to their court. Tournament will have an AM and PM wave format. Teams playing in specific waves will be available shortly. AM wave will start at 8:00 am and PM wave will start at approximately 2:30 pm. Pool play on Saturday and Sunday will host the elimination playoff. The event will use AAU Championship rules. Libero will be allowed to serve in one position. For questions about specific playing rules you can access from www.aauvolleyball.org Division winners of 10 or more teams will receive a champion t-shirt, trophy, and free (or reimbursed entry) to the AAU National Championships in Orlando. Silver bracket winners receive a champion t-shirt. Tournament director may combine age groups if needed to create the competition schedule and meet minimum team requirements.
Officiating
An R1 is provided. Teams are required to work matches including R2 and should come prepared with whistle. Working team consist of an R2, score keeper, score flipper, libero tracker, and line judges. A scorebook and pens/pencils will be provided. A coach who is not officiating must be present at the score table. Every effort should be made to keep play moving. Captains will be called within two minutes of the end of the previous match.
Match Play
All matches will be best 2 out of 3 (25-25-15) starting at 0. Warm-ups will be 2 (shared) 4-4.
Team Check-In / Start times
At check in the coach or representative must have two copies of an AAU roster or AES roster that includes AAU membership #’s. Team check-in will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Friday night from 7 – 9, Saturday morning from 7 – 7:45, and Saturday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45. Teams will receive player badges at check-in for tournament entry. The first match of a wave will call captains at 7:50 for AM wave and 2:20 for PM wave.
Ticket Sales
$7 per day or $15 weekend pass admission will be charged at the Convention Center for spectators. Kids 6 and Under — Free. Tickets can be purchased on Friday from 7 – 9pm and all day Saturday and Sunday
Shirt Sales
Shirt sales will begin Friday at the Convention Center from 7 – 9 pm and continue Saturday-Monday until supplies are gone. Come early for best selections.
Food Tables / Chairs / Ball Handling
No ball handling is allowed inside of the Convention Center. No food tables or outside chairs are allowed inside. Food is available in and around the Convention Center.
