If you’ve got sugar and water, you’ve got all the makings of simple syrup, which—true to its name—is an easy-to-make sweetener for iced tea, lemonade and other cold drinks. Stir it into your favorite summer beverage, and you won’t have to wait for sugar crystals to dissolve. Once you’ve got it, you’ll be ready to make a pitcher of my sweetened Very berry lemonade. Or, for a summer drink without the added sugar, mix up some Strawberry-kiwi-lime water.
