Uncertain Times: Homefront 1865

A new event at Historic Brattonsville, “Uncertain Times: Homefront 1865” aims to tell a more inclusive story of the Brattonsville community during the Civil War. The impact of the Civil War created a cultural upheaval throughout the South. For four turbulent years, the future of those on the homefront hung in the balance. While soldiers faced death and their families prayed for their safe return, the enslaved community contemplated the possibility of freedom.
