What would it be like to sleep on nothing but a mattress filled with hay? Did slave families have neighbors? What kind of seasonings did they use in their food? Explore the home life of enslaved families through a special tour, presentation and activities. This is a great program for families. It will contain detailed information about slave life and historical research at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site.
Meeting place: Meet at the visitor center.
What to bring: Donations of peanut butter, cornmeal (preferably in sealed cans rather than bags) and canned vegetables for "Hunger Takes No Vacation" food drive.
