Sweet Tea Series – Lillian Benson: “Savannah River Meanderings”
to
Aiken County Historical Museum 433 Newberry St., Aiken, South Carolina 29801
Join us on Friday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at the Aiken County Historical Museum for the next installment of our summer “Sweet Tea” book lectures. Get ready for a slow meander down the Savannah River from the perspective of a true “river rat” who was born and raised on the Savannah before the turn of the 20th century. That “river rat” is author Lillian Benson, who will talk about her new book, “Savannah River Meanderings.”
We will learn a bit of history and also talk about current river concerns and 21st-century recreational opportunities on the Middle Savannah. If you love river lore and history or are just curious about this brown strip of water we call the Savannah, you will not want to miss it!
This program is free. Refreshments will be served.
