Sisters in Service Luncheon

Please join us for the Inaugural “Sisters in Service” luncheon on Friday, June 12, to celebrate National Women Veteran’s Day. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St SW, in Aiken. Come help us honor all women veterans of all branches, ranks and eras, as well as Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) and Junior ROTC. The occasion is open to everyone interested.
The keynote speaker is General Jacqueline Van Ovost, USAF (Retired), a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy who completed her esteemed 36-year career as commander of the United States Transportation Command. Gen. Van Ovost began her quest to join the military in JROTC before attending the Air Force Academy. She is a certified flight instructor in general aviation aircraft as well as a military aircraft instructor and evaluator. A test pilot with experience in many types of aircraft, she was the lead military test pilot for the C-17 program. Later she commanded the Presidential Airlift Wing responsible for global airlift, logistics and communications for the President, Vice President, and other senior leaders.
Cost is $30 per person and includes lunch, beverage and dessert.
