Sheep Shearing Day

Interpreters will be shearing the living history plantation's Gulf Coast Heritage sheep. Demonstrating throughout the day show how raw woolen fleece is processed for carding, spinning, dyeing with natural indigo, and weaving the wool into finished garments. Springtime brings newborn lambs to the plantation! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day on the 778-acre site that includes farmed land with an assortment of heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site, a nature preserve with miles of walking trails, and more!
Admission: Adult $6; Senior $5; Youth 4-17 $3; CHM members and children 3 and under admitted FREE.
