South Carolina's Revolutionary War years come alive as some 500 reenactors interpret life on the Southern Campaign trail. At 1:30 p.m., cannons roar as Redcoats and Patriots act out Southern Campaign battle tactics on an expanded battlefield on the lower grounds of the museum, followed by military courts-martial scenarios. Watch period craftsmen ply their trades. Listen to civilian interpreters share their lifestyles as you stroll through the camps. Enjoy shopping at the 17 nifty shops on Sutlers Row, watching a period fashion show, and participating in lots of hands-on activities for kids of all ages. It's a fantastic and fun family outing.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults,$5 for seniors over 62 and military, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for children under 6. You can also purchase a $25 family package (2 adults, 3 kids under 12). There will be food concessions and free parking. No pets, please. Location is at Historic Camden, 222 Broad St., Camden, SC, 1.4 miles on Hwy. 521 North from I-20/Exit 98.
