Disciples United Methodist's pumpkin patch partners with the Navajo Indian Nation in Farmington, N.M., which grows 1,200 acres of pumpkins each year. More than 700 Native Americans are employed in growing, managing, harvesting and shipping the pumpkins to more than 1,000 pumpkin patch sites, including Disciples United Methodist.
The patch will have big pumpkins, tiny pumpkins, and every size in between, plus orange, green, striped and even white pumpkins, as well as gourds of all shapes and sizes. Pumpkin Patch hours are Oct. 1-31, Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, noon-7 p.m. For information, call 864-297-0382.
The church will also have its annual Fall Bazaar October 24, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with arts, crafts, baked goods, silent auction, lunch and pumpkins.
