Home Grown: Works by York County Artists features 44 local artists from three art guilds - the Catawba River Art Guild, the Tega Cay Art League, and the Yorkville Artists’ Guild are on exhibit in the Dalton Gallery at the Center for the Arts.
The arts spark creativity and innovation, and local artists are catalysts for community engagement. The artists that comprise the Catawba River Art Guild meet monthly at the Center for the Arts, while The Tega Cay Art League is a small study group of professional-level artists who meet weekly. Each group comes together to paint, draw, and discuss fine art. They participate in occasional en plein air (outdoor painting), field trips, clothed model sessions, and demonstrations and educational programs. Members of the guilds work in a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, collage, graphite and colored pencil.
