Introduction to Samba no Pe with Adriana Blanco

Adriana is offering an introduction to Samba no Pe, a style of samba that originates from Carnaval culture in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This class includes an exploration of the African-Brazilian historical origins, fundamental body movement that supports stylistic expression, footwork drilling, and the breakdown of the samba no pe step. This class will include a warm-up with body isolations, a fun and basic sequence, technique and a cool down.
The Arts & Wellness Series is a hybrid class offering. You can opt to join us at the Center for the Arts to participate in-person. If you prefer to participate remotely, you can tune in to the livestream of the class. Links will be sent a few days prior to each class. When you enroll in the classes, you will need to select either in-person or virtual. Virtual classes are not transferable as a limited number of spaces are available in the in-person offerings.
