Interfaith Youth Panel
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1883 Saluda Road, City of Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730
An Interfaith Youth Panel will take place on Jan. 18, 6- 7 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1883 Saluda Road in Rock Hill. The event is free and open to the public.
Interfaith Partners of South Carolina and Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization will present a group of teens representing several of the faith traditions in our area and have them speak to their peers as part of a public panel discussion. A moderator will pose questions and guide the conversation, from their favorite religious holidays to the everyday discrimination they face.
The event promotes interfaith understanding, sensitizes attendees to faith-based prejudice, gives participants some basic strategies for responding when they witness bigotry in their everyday lives and helps young people to create relationships across differences.
We are committed to helping our next generation of leaders build bridges of understanding. Our goal is to enhance interfaith collaboration and understanding, promote religious literacy, collaboratively serve the common good and support each other during times of crisis, need and conflict. We also want to give our young adults the opportunity to be heard about the things that matter most to them.
The mission of Interfaith Partners of South Carolina is to bring together people of diverse religious, spiritual, and secular paths throughout our state to cultivate a more harmonious community. Together we believe in 'World transformation through Self Transformation.
