Methodist University and the David McCune International Art Gallery's exhibit "Impressionism to Modernism: Masterworks of Early Photography" celebrates an intrepid and colorful group of photographers at the turn of the 20th century on both sides of the Atlantic who fought to establish photography as a full-fledged fine art, equal with painting, sculpture and etching. The opening reception will be held on Feb. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibit will then remain open to the public through April 8, 2017.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Sundays, Mondays and March 7-11.
