Historic Sips and Stories: Coffee Tasting with Charleston Coffee Exchange

Guests are invited to join the Charleston Museum for a special series that explores beverages with longstanding ties to history, especially during the American Revolution. In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of our nation, join Museum Curators and Charleston Coffee Exchange for a special workshop on coffee for the first installment in the series.

As you learn more about coffee’s influence and historical presence, Charleston Coffee Exchange will take you on a guided, specially designed tasting journey while you sample a variety of coffees and learn more about its production. Enhance your experience with an exclusive look at items from the Museum’s History collections that are not on exhibit.

Tickets are all-inclusive and include three tastings, a full serving of coffee, light bites, a Curator talk with access to special Museum collection items and education from a local coffee expert and roaster.

Tickets are $40 for members or $55 for non–members. Reservations are required and spots are limited.

Classes with insufficient enrollment may be canceled. Students will be notified in advance and full refunds or the opportunity to transfer to another workshop will be offered. Student cancellations must be requested 48 hours in advance for a refund minus $10 administration fee. Full registration fee may be transferred to a future workshop or other adult program. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will result in a forfeiture of workshop fee.

They hand-select the finest coffee beans from farmers all over the world, and roast them in-house with care and passion. Once packaged, they are distributed to coffee shops, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and our own customers through their online bean store.
