Fanning Endowment Teacher Workshop
to
South Carolina Botanical Garden 150 Discovery Lane, Clemson, South Carolina 29634
Calling local elementary teachers! Join us for a day-long workshop to enrich and deepen your curriculum content.
Established curricula are excellent at conveying basic concepts, but this approach dilutes the diversity and complexity of the natural world. By embracing these elements, teachers can encourage students to develop higher level thinking skills. In this workshop, we use native plants and their pollinator partners to explore plant and animal adaptations, develop entomological literacy and explore the process of pollination, seed formation and dispersal.
Participants will receive a native plant starter kit, books for teacher support and classroom use and a detailed collected bibliography of online materials
This free workshop will be held in the SCBG Hayden Conference Center. Registration fee, supplies and lunch provided by the Fanning Endowment.
Space is limited. Classroom teachers only.
