The 2022 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with Modjeska Simkins: Makin’ a Way Out of No Way. Part of the Carolina Stories Series by SCETV, this film tells the story of South Carolina human and civil rights matriarch, Modjeska Monteith Simkins. This classic Carolina story is a portrait of an activist who laid the groundwork for some of the most significant civil rights cases in United States history.
The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Horry County Museum, 805 Main Street in Conway.
