Curator Talk: Snakes in the Lowcountry
Charleston Museum 360 Meeting Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29403
Join Natural History Volunteer Makayla Peppin-Sherwood and Natural History Curator Matthew Gibson in a belated celebration of World Snake Day when we explore some of the various snake species found throughout the Lowcountry.
We’ll dispel some of the common myths surrounding snake behaviors, such as their ability to “size you up,” as well as misconceptions about their biology. We will also share tips on how to identify the common species in the area and answer any questions about curation of the Museum’s snake specimens.
Free for members and with admission to The Charleston Museum.
