Historic Brattonsville 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells, South Carolina 29726
Focusing on farm life in the 18th and 19th centuries, Children’s Day on the Farm is a fun, annual family event at Historic Brattonsville. Hands-on activities include candle-dipping, blacksmithing, and food preparations in the way of the early settlers of the Carolina Backcountry. Children will enjoy toys and games. Springtime brings newborn lambs and other heritage-breed farm animals to pet and cuddle.
Pony and wagon rides will be available for a small additional fee. A team of plow-horses will be working out in the field!
Professional storyteller Sharon Cooper-Murray, De Gullah Lady, will be delighting all with her SC sea-island tales laced with the rich traditions of the Gullah culture.
The Friends of Historic Brattonsville will offer food concessions for sale.
Admission Fees: Adults $8; Seniors $6; Youth 4-17 $3; 3 and under free; CHM members free
