Children's Day on the Farm
to
Historic Brattonsville 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells, South Carolina 29726
Our annual family event focuses on farm life in the 18th and 19th centuries. This historic learning opportunity offers a wide variety of hands-on activities demonstrating the work and play of our Carolina Piedmont ancestors. Children of all ages can help with candle-dipping, blacksmithing, cooking and much, much more.
There will be newborn lambs, horses, cows and other farm animals to see on our working plantation. Pony and wagon rides will be available for a small additional fee. Visitors can also help with the plowing as we use draft horses to prepare the ground for spring planting.
After helping with the farm chores, settle in and enjoy some age-old stories of the Grimms Brothers. The Bright Star Touring Theatre (www.brightstartheatre.com) will perform Happily Ever After and Upcycled Cinderella, getting the audience involved in the action.
Food concessions will be available for sale, so plan on spending the day with us.
Admission: adults $10; seniors $8; youth 4-17 $6; 3 and under free; CHM members free
