"By Way of the Back Door" is a living history program that reflects on the way of life for the enslaved people who endured on the Bratton plantation during the 18th and 19th centuries. Every Saturday in February, a unique program at Historic Brattonsville focuses on the African American community’s journey from enslavement to today.
Join us Feb. 25 for "Arts and Cultural Contributions" at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Rd. in McConnells. Guided tours will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Admission is Adults $8; Seniors $7; Youth $5; Free for CHM Members & under the age of three.
Historic Brattonsville is included in The Green Book of South Carolina - A Travel Guide to S.C. African American Cultural Sites. The travel guide lists tourism sites and attractions, which are on the National Register or have a State Historic Marker, from 46 counties in South Carolina.
