"Black Carolinians Speak: Portraits of a Pandemic" Exhibit

The South Carolina African American Heritage Commission (SCAAHC) and the WeGOJA Foundation cordially invite select media to the opening of the "Black Carolinians Speak: Portraits of a Pandemic" exhibit Thursday, July 15 at 6 p.m. in the South Carolina Archives & History Center, 8301 Parklane Road in Columbia.
The exhibit features drawings, paintings, photography and interview excerpts from African American South Carolinians who gave their impressions of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The evening also will include a panel discussion on African American health in the Palmetto State, moderated by Dr. Bobby Donaldson, director of the University of South Carolina Center for Civil Rights History and Research and featuring Dr. Linda Bell, state epidemiologist, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Michael Allen, project visionary, SCAAHC and Dr. Marvin Dulaney, history scholar and co-curator.
