Avant Garde Center for the Arts and Olde English District Artists Market & Visitor Center have teamed up to bring an impressive array of artists to Lancaster, SC for the Red Rose Holiday Tour. A Main Street business is opening their doors for the partnership in order that holiday shoppers have a central location to find works of art that include stained glass, wood turnings, paintings, photography, artistic jewelry & accessories, sweetgrass baskets, pottery, wood carvings, sculpture, and more! The indoor market features artisans from all over to show and sell their works as a multitude of events take place throughout the County.
A small sampling of the artists and vendors participaint includes D’sweetgrass Basketry of Mineral Springs NC, walking sticks by Lancaster’s Arnett Abdul-Majied, Columbia SC artists Barbie Mathis & Jean Borque with watercolors & acrylic paintings alongside stained glass artists Glassie Ladies, wood turning demos by Pamela Krehan of Fort Mill SC, Photographic Images by Alex Pietersen of Clover SC, Rock Hill SC’s Copper Creations, Jennifer Kirk Hamilton paintings, Cliff Rogers wood carvings, and gkingphotography. Visitors will also enjoy works from York SC’s Old Alley Gifts & Handcrafts, Flat Creek Designs of Kershaw SC, Charlotte NC’s HWS Creations, MyersArt of Hickory Grove SC, Lancaster SC’s Clu’s Wood Carvings , R & M Unique Designs, and Artisan Works by Jackie. You will not want to miss Silver & Steel, Deck the Halls, or Ricasso Art of Chester SC, paintings by Winnsboro SC’s Christy Buchanan, Leon McFadden folk art & Turner’s Jewelry of Fort Lawn SC, Spartanburg SC’s McRose Designs, Frank’s House of Mud from Glenville NC, Spirit Wind of McConnells SC, and a host of others!
The Artisans of the Olde English District & Downtown Holiday Market is being held December 7th from 10am until 6pm at 212 S. Main Street, Lancaster, SC as part of a weekend-long Red Rose Holiday Tour. The tour includes a multitude of holiday open houses at galleries, gift shops, designers, cultural centers, and historical locations, in addition to annual Native American Art and Piedmont Folk Art Sales. Carriage history tours, home tours, 5-K Reindeer Run, Santa Train & Workshop, Food & Beverage pairings, jewelry trunk show, Historic Courthouse storytelling, free Carolina Brass Christmas Concert, all-day Lancaster Performing Arts downtown stage entertainment, and the opportunity to gift everyone on your list with original works by talented artisans!
