Founding member of the Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, Rhiannon Giddens ventured out as a solo artist in 2013. Many awards later, including the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass, Living Blues and International Folk Music Awards, and a MacArthur Fellowship, Giddens reigns as a powerful soprano who emits soulful emotion through music. A native of Greensboro, she also has been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. Her two solo albums are “Tomorrow Is My Turn” and “Freedom Highway.”
