1Spark Festival

Chapman Cultural Center 200 East St John Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29306
A single spark of inspiration is all it takes to produce a masterpiece of art or an innovative business. Spartanburg is full of these sparks, shining bright with creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Chapman Cultural Center has created 1Spark, a festival where creativity and innovation collide, to showcase these brilliant aspects of our community. It features Spartanburg's "makers" – visual artists, performers, entrepreneurs, inventors, and others – with entertainment and demonstrations.
This year, 1Spark will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., celebrating arts and entrepreneurship, two powerful forces that make the moniker "Sparkle City" ever so true.
The event takes place between the campuses of Chapman Cultural Center and "The George" — home of the George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business and Economics at USC Upstate — a literal crossroads of creativity and innovation.
Local food trucks will also be on hand, and regional musicians will showcase Spartanburg's high level of musical talent on the amphitheater at The George while entrepreneurs give live demos, artisans demonstrate their techniques and process, and everybody engages in creativity challenges. Attendees also vote for their favorite artist and entrepreneur.
