“Before the Ice Ages: Miocene and Pliocene Beasts of the Southeast” Opening
Museum of York County 4621 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29732
"Before the Ice Ages: Milocene and Pliocene Beasts of the Southeast" opens June 14 in conjunction with Mysteries of Miocene Family Day at the Museum of York County in Rock Hill.
Explore the incredible landscapes of the Carolina Piedmont from over 20 million years ago, where shovel-tusked elephants thundered across ancient plains, saber-toothed cats and bone-crushing dogs hunted in the shadows, and terrifying “hell” pigs ruled the land. A new permanent exhibit unlike anything in the region opens soon where visitors can walk among the fearsome beasts of the Miocene and Pliocene, a time long before the Ice Ages.
