Tavien Feaster, 2015 Mr. Football
On Dec. 3, Tavien Feaster of Spartanburg High School was named South Carolina's Mr. Football for 2015. Josh Crotzer, right, of Broad River Electric Cooperative presented the trophy during the Palmetto Champions Award dinner at Seawell's in Columbia.
Spartanburg High School running back Tavien Feaster is Mr. Football for 2015 in South Carolina. Feaster becomes the 21st winner of the award that is recognized as the state's top individual honor in high school football.
The Mr. Football award is presented by the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association in conjunction with the state's electric cooperatives, which also sponsor the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in Myrtle Beach on Dec. 12.
"It means a lot to be one of the most prestigious football players and take home this award," said Feaster. "I know legends have held this award right here, so it is an honor and a blessing just to be a part of this."
Feaster was one of five finalists for the award. The others were Chapin quarterback Logan Bailey, Conway receiver Bryan Edwards, Dorman quarterback Collin Hill and Fort Dorchester lineman John Simpson.
Feaster becomes the first Clemson commitment to win the award since Roscoe Crosby in 2000.
