"Nature’s Tapestries" will run Oct. 11 – Feb. 26, 2017 in the Vernon Grant Gallery.
This exhibition highlights the creative endeavors of local fiber artist Dottie Moore to capture the myriad colors, textures, patterns and dimensionality of nature. For over 41 years, Dottie has stitched together her love of nature and her artistic expression into uniquely crafted quilted masterpieces. Her richly textured tapestries celebrate the beauty and mysteries of earth and sky and beg the viewer to pause and ponder their own places--spiritually, physically, creatively--in the world. Moore’s quilts reflect her intuitive artistry, drawing creative expression and inspiration from the natural world. This exhibit provides a rich visual experience to complement the "Wild Fabrications" art quilts on display concurrently in the auditorium.
