Singing Christmas Tree
to
First Baptist Church of Georgetown 219 Cleland Street, Georgetown, South Carolina 29440
The Singing Christmas Tree features a 75-voice choir singing in a 23-foot tree with nine tiers. Accompanied by live musicians, the Christmas Story from the Scriptures is told through a variety of music with narrative drama in between each song. Thousands of lights on the tree and throughout the sanctuary enhance the musical and dramatic experience, which includes a pageantry of the Nativity characters. This year’s program includes fresh choral arrangements of Christmas songs by various Christian artists such as Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Matt and Beth Redman, Maher, Meredith Andrews, and Danny Gokey, as well as sprlnklings of familiar carols.
The 28th annual Singing Christmas Tree will be presented at the First Church of Georgetown on Dec. 8-11 at 7 p.m. each evening and on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. A Prelude Concert featuring a variety of talented local musicians will begin 45 minutes before each service. Free tickets will be available beginning on Monday, Nov. 13 at the church office; please call (843) 546-5187.
