2019 Southern Sound Series: Sierra Hull

A virtuoso mandolin-player with a lustrous voice, Sierra Hull returns for an encore Southern Sound Series performance. A child prodigy who was born and raised in Tennessee, Hull was mentored by Alison Krauss and awarded a Presidential Scholarship to study at the Berklee College of Music. Hull’s “Weighted Mind,” produced by Bela Fleck, received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Folk Album. In 2016, Hull was the first female to be named Mandolin Player of the Year by International Bluegrass Music Association; she’s received that honor twice since. The 2019 Southern Sound Series is presented by Rock Hill Coca-Cola and supported by stage sponsor Founders Federal Credit Union.
