The 800-acre Carolina backcountry Brattonsville Plantation has new spring lambs and an assortment of heritage breed animals! The Gulf Coast sheep at Historic Brattonsville will be getting an 18th century-style shearing on Sheep Shearing Family Day. Along with hand-shearing the heritage breed sheep, there will be demonstrations on the many processes of turning raw wool into finished textiles. Period-dressed interpreters will be busy sorting the wool and cleaning, carding, spinning, dyeing, weaving and sewing throughout the day. The annual family-friendly event will have spring lambs and other furry farm animals to pet. Admission: adults $8, seniors $7, youth 4-17 $5, CHM members and children 3 and under admitted free.
