Art Gallery on Pendleton Square 150 Exchange Street, Pendleton, South Carolina 29670
This month Art Gallery on Pendleton Square will feature fiber artist Pat Kerko, who has been involved in some type of handwork most of her life. She developed a lifelong love for it, having been taught by her grandmother to sew, knit and crochet. After having worked as an engineer in many different capacities for an upstate New York company for 23 years and raising a family, she now enjoys creating pieces of art with intricately detailed stitching on them, all of which are done freehand and intuitively with her sewing machine, without marking the fabric beforehand. Pat has won several national and regional awards for her fiber art in both traditional and art quilt categories.
We invite you to enjoy wine, soft drinks and light refreshments as Pat speaks to us about her excitement in the exploration of using her established skills to create new combinations of fiber, fabric and thread, resulting in functional items such as apparel accessories, jewelry, pillows, and table runners, as well as art quilts and wall hangings.
