The meeting will run 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
MI2020 will provide an update on its projects and programs, and will present the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award and the 2013 Golden Oyster Award. The Golden Oyster Award recognizes a business, organization and/or individual whose action shows respect and care for the Inlet landscape and waters. Dr. H. P. "Pat" Worrell (1943 - 2009) of Murrells Inlet was a dentist, civic leader and long-time environmental activitist. Pat believed that the Inlet is a special place and its future depends on achieving a healthy balance between development, commercial use and preservation. The quality of our lives as Murrells Inlet residents depends on the quality of the Inlet itself -- its ecological health and vitality. The health of the Inlet, in turn, depends on each of us.
