2015 Lunch and Learn Series (Carolina Fish Camps)
to
USC-Lancaster Native American Studies Center 119 South Main Street, Lancaster, South Carolina 29720
Dr. Stephen Criswell, Ph.D., will discuss the history behind the Carolina Piedmont’s family-owned seafood restaurants that line the highways along the local rivers, lakes, and tributaries. Despite the threat from chain restaurants, these fish camps still prevail. Dr. Criswell is a native of the one-time fish mecca Gaston County, NC, and will describe this tradition. The Native American Studies Center invites all to attend free monthly lectures with topics related to local or regional history. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
